I've noticed sometime strange recently... my car is set to autolock after you drive off but sometimes the rear passenger door does not lock. and sometimes both rear doors do not lock (but mostly the rear passenger side more). When i press the lock button on the dash, all door unlock and after the 2nd press, all doors lock fine. After parking the car and pressing the lock key on my remote (so far) I have not come across any of the doors not locking.
Do my locks or motor need to be replaced? is this a common fault? or does it just need oiling or something....

Thanks in advance!

Hm.

Is it possible to ascertain if the auto-lock signal, coming from the iDrive option, and the remote key signal are the same? If they are, you probably have a faulty lock. If they are different, it could be something else as it appears to happen only when you drive off. Is there a "auto-lock" module somewhere in the car to check?

So this weekend I had some guests round and took out the baby seat as I needed the extra seat. Decided to de-activate the child lock and with surprise the rear passenger door locks all the time without any issues. I've left it like that for now (my son is not old enough to open the door anyway) to see if the issues occurs again. So how can that stop the door from locking? very strange....
