Default Anyone checked out the new Volvo V60 R Design wagon?

Curious what it's going to be like... Rare to find nice handling luxury wagons with high HP - there's only a few now sold here in NA.

If I didn't love our E61 as much as I do, notwithstanding even that I came from an 09 XC70, which was a lemon and I hated it, I'd actually consider this car...

It will have a 325-hp turbo (read: easily tunable!) 3.0-liter I-6 with 354 lb-ft. of torque, and do 0-60 MPH in mid 5 seconds. And it's been lowered 15 mm's from the regular V60 wagon with stiffer springs and suspension too.

Do you know if this will be AWD or FWD?

I would buy a v60 polestar if they had it available in a manual...

Considering that it's in the "too small for me, but it's cool" 5 door hatch/mini-wagon segment, I like it a lot more than the Audi A3 5 dr sportback or similar.

It's AWD I'm pretty sure.

I found its length is 183 inches, so same size as 3 wagon and A4 Allroad roughly, alas. Not 5 wagon size replacement it sounds like.

Bumper to bumper length doesn't necessarily mean it's the same effectively usable size inside. I mention this because I'm will to bet you a doughnut that it's considerably smaller inside. Sure looks like it to me anyway.

Either that or the hood is really, really, huge.

You're totally right on that. Before I got our wagon, I checked out the new X3, which is listed around 180 inches IIRC (whereas ours are 190) and I was very pleasantly surprised how they had managed to squeeze out quite a bit more room for rear passengers and in the trunk, vs. the previous gen X3, which was the same length.

Had we not found a nice E61, that was my next choice. No way I'd have gotten a boat of an X5.

X5 a boat?! Well I'd be fine with that boat and it's ventilated 20 way comfort seats

I guess if you don't have a problem driving a 4800 pound boat, vs. a 4200 pound car... I know which one I'd pick, especially if the boat came with the same 300 HP engine.

well, I wouldn't have an X5 without the diesel engine

Drove a G63 yesterday.... now that was fun.

These Volvo cars are looking cool lately. I've thought an XC70 would be perfect for my mom but I guess I would need to really research to find the best year for her.
