Dear All,
it's coming to the point of change of initial OEM disks. So, now's the question - what are the options out there? Should i just fit original or there are better options (disks/pads and calipers) around? Budget-wise... i'd say more/less same as OEM, if really improvements possible - can increase a bit but not looking to massive investments.
Couldn't find anything on the forum, hope I've "searched" correctly.
Thanks in advance!

It would useful if you stated the year and model of your car as BMW has fitted different sizes of brakes depending upon year, market and model.

this is an interesting question to me also as i feel the brakes on my 08 535xi are the worst, really sub-par and I am looking for non-extreme solutions to just make them a little better.

I went to Centric Premium drilled/slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads, and never looked back. The only drawback I've noticed, is the fact that it takes a bit to warm up the drilled/slotted rotors in daily driving. They never fade though - which is what I was trying to achieve. Also, having gone the cheaper route, I've always kind of regretted not having gotten the R1 Concept rotors instead. Yes, they are slightly more money, but I kind of have this idea that this may be so for a good reason.
Anyway, ask member Michael@AcutePerformance for brake advice
SUPER awesome vendor to deal with and has more knowledge, than just about anyone here, when it comes to cars
I highly recommend.

Well, quick update on research I've been conducting lately. First of all - it's strange that alternatives to OEM are not that popular on the forum taking into account that performance upgrades are quite often
Don't you need stop from time to time?
Anyway, here's what I've found:
Seems like online-wise leader for brakes is Autoteile Ralf Schmitz (http://www.at-rs.de) in Europe. And options wise we have the following:
Brake rotors:
1) ATE brake discs (normal or Power Disc)
2) Brembo OEM substitute
3) Tarox
Again, based on different articles/forums and other feedback/review it seems that last one, Tarox, would be the most sport/performance oriented but the most expensive one (up to 3 times comparing to ATE).
Quite interesting compatibility matrix:

I'm looking at Tarox F2000 and ATE Ceramic pads... As a bit less expensive option would be Tarox Zero (seems like no car documents update required).
