8volt to my tailgate headlight - flickering
Hi,
My right tailgate headlight is not working (LCI, LED headlight)
- Engine on: No light at all
- Engine off, keys out: dim flickering (!)
I measure from 4.0 to 8.5 volt on the grey/yellow cable that enter the light cluster in the tailgate. (Foglight, reverse light is working 100%)
How to fix this?
I recently fixed the wiring to the far right on the tailgate - but as far as I can see, only numberplate light and tailgate lock are using the two grey/yellow cables)
EDIT: I also tested to measure directly to negative on car battery, so not poor grounding.
EDIT: No error on iDrive

Be carefull measuring voltages to the lights. These use a PWM controlled voltage. So it might be perfectly normal you measure 8V with a handhelt AC/DC meter. Try comparing it with the other side, or even beter use a scope.
