Default 535i...smoke from exhaust on hard acceration

Hello all...new 2009 535i touring owner...first post with hope for an answer!

I purchased this car used with 65000 miles on it from a dealer, not a BMW dealer. The car in sitting for 40 days and probably going on some very short test ride with cold starts and stops never given engine a chance to warm up...

The day after I purchased the car I loaded up and drove the Southern California 400 mile drive down a long straight highway in tandem with my wife in another car...

To have a little fun about 50 miles into the ride I decided to step on the gas while in front of her she then called me on her phone and told me that some smoke came out of the exhaust when I accelerated for a brief moment, then stopped...

I figured perhaps because the car was sitting for so long they may have been some residual oil left over somewhere I'm not a techie so after a few miles I decided to step on the gas again with her watching unfortunately it happened again...

Again optimistic that it was just getting rid of some residual oil after so many poor test drive in it adequate engine warming up and cooling down I decided to do it one last time, about 50 miles later, and on the third time there was no smoke...

I know the first question after researching will be what color was the smoke and it most certainly was not black but it was difficult to tell if it was gray or blue...

I'm reaching out to you folks because I have the option to purchase a used aftermarket warranty within 3 days of my purchase of the car and if it might be a major issue I might buy the warranty...

I apologize for this limited information that could I be correct in assuming that it was simply just left over gunk from 40 days on a used car lot or am i tricking myself....

I apologize for the typos I'm sending this message from my phone using voice to text as I do not have my laptop down here in Southern California

I think it's from "sitting idle" for a while , if it's a head gasket leak it would be all the time white smoke, open ur engine oil cap and see on the underside if any whitish residue,if none ,I don't think you have much to worry about
