I think the metal plates on the sports wheel looks bettern than the black ones on the M. But the M badge, the tumbgrips and little thiker grip is preferred after all.

Is it the sport or the m-sport steering wheel? The sport looks better IMHO but the m-sport is all black and has these lovely "thumb-bumps" on the rim.

BTW, we're getting the cold weather package AND the Sport Package...no problem with the heated wheel.

Hi new member here.
I'm looking into getting a 2007 530xiT and I wanted to know if the sport package is the same for the Touring as the 530xi Sedan? I've looked around a couple of dealers in my area but haven't seen a Touring with a sport pack yet. What does the sport steering wheel look like? Also, if you get the cold weather package, do you still get the sport steering wheel? Any pictures and help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No sport suspension in the US on the wagon, so it's sitting an inch or so higher than the sedan (but not sure about the xi sedan..). I'm looking into replacing the springs to get the look of the sedan and make it a bit stiffer. I don't mind the ride the way it is now, so doing it primarily for the looks. I have the cold weather package and sport package and yes, it does have the sport steering wheer (heated - isn't that wonderful here in southern California..). I thought about the 550i but loved the wagon too much.
Thanks, for the info. I'm in need of the wagon (family car). One of my friends just picked up the 550i and he loves it. Man does it fly!!
I was trying to justify the 550 but the wife keeps reminding me we need to get a vehicle that can do double duty, and I'm NOT going to get an SUV. I never liked them and I don't like the way they drive, just not my cup of tea. So, the wagon option is the best choice for us. I was concerned about the power of the 3.0, but after driving it, I think its fine.I looked at the A6 Avant and I liked it very much, but when you drive both cars back to back you can tell the difference in the way the 530xi handles versus the Avant. So, I'm going to justify the extra expense of the BMW over the Audi and go for it.

I'm almost giving up on my efforts to lower this damn car... now TireRack is pulling back, saying Eibach doesn't support the E61 - yet.
Does anyone know a high quality shop in Los Angeles I can discuss mods with?

Can someone help explain the importing process from Europe? I am currently in the market for the E61 but am disappointed with the limited offerings here in the United States. Obviously, we have the 530xi with steptronic or manual and as the posters have been mentioning, a cosmetic Sports package and cosmetic M body kit option.
It would be great to outfit the E61 with a superior suspension as you can in Europe but how does one then get the car to the US and pass the local standards and specifications?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have seen on the inside pictures, that you have bought the
M5 I-Drive knob.
Is anyone knowing the part-number an the price?
Or has anyone the dimensions, to maufacture this funny knob by myself.....
how I can remove the original one, I can not see a screw or something like this.
Regards from Germany....
