Default 530i questions

Hi guys, newbie to the forum, but just purchased a lovely 2007 530i and had a few questions I was hoping you might be able to help with:

1. with new struts, will the boot fully open when unlocking with the key? I have small kids and that would be a huge benefit, but don't want to invest if not possible.
2. the large panoramic sunroof tilts but doesn't go back, is it worth trying to fix yourself, or better to let a specialist look at it? Assume it's the motor, but not sure how big a job that is.
3. this vehicle has folding mirrors but they don't fold on lock - I heard that this could be programmed using the BimmerCode app and an OBD adapter, has anyone tried this? And if so, does it work?

Really appreciate any help with these, cheers.

I'm finding that the Touring realm of the forum is a bit.......lacking in response.

I too, recently acquired an e61 and have many questions. Hopefully, with my previous BMW ownership knowledge, I can help you out a bit.

The automatic lift gate can be set to open to the full height in the iDrive. You'll have to check the owner's manual for details.

My pano roof did the same thing. I was lucky and found that the open/close button was just dirty. I pulled it from the roof, opened it, cleaned it and re-installed. Voila! My roof opened all the way.

I am not savvy to the apps for coding. I am looking at ISTA for the laptop as I see it has the ability to code functions like the one you are talking about. I do know, from experience, that the dealer can code many features to the keys and folding mirrors on lock/unlock is one of those.

Good luck and enjoy the "new" ride!
