Trunk won’t open!!
Hello all,
I have an 2005 530i with a trunk that spontaneously won’t open.
The key doesn’t do anything, and the button doesn’t either.
It is not a model with folding backseats, and I can’t imagine any way of getting to the emergency latch.
Please help me out here.
Thanks.

Can you get it open at all. If so I would fix the button. Look at the loom and find the wire that is almost disconnected.

Ya neither the button in the vehicle, on the key fob, or the actual metal key itself.
How did your locksmith get it open?

So you're saying when you put the key in the keyhole to open the trunk it doesn't do anything. Neither does the button on your key nor the button inside the car. If that's the case, then you can forget about getting into the trunk unless you take a crowbar to it.
It turns but doesnt do anything, doesn't open at all
Make sure you are turning it enough and in the right direction.
There is a post on here where a person wasn't turning it enough, and it also takes a bit of effort as well.
