Hello to the E60/61 group. Can anyone with a set of Continental 225/50 R17s tell me how to get rid of the howling thats coming from these tires. I bought the 530xi Wagon in Dec 06 with the Continentals OEM and more or less ignored the tires for 55,000 miles. Fairly quiet ride, great handling. Replaced them a month ago after getting a flat with an identical set of Contis at the dealers recommendation. This new set starts to hum at 15MPH + and by the time I get to 50 it sounds like a 4WD truck with snow tires. I realize the alignment could be off and will have it checked on Monday. From what I'm reading here and at Roadfly I get the feeling that this noise problem is fairly common. Driving just under 2000 miles a month, mostly highway, 65 - 85 MPH average speeds. Can anyone tell me if the Michelin MXV4 S8's are any quieter ? I ran Michelins on my last 3 BMWs so I know they are good tires.
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Also may want to consider a road-force balance. The upper right search bar is a useful and resourceful tool. GL
