Yes your right they are Conti SC2, the grip they offer is superb and with all the rain we get in the UK they seem very good in the wet. No tramlining upto now.
But the main benefit NO RUNFLATS

IMO. However there is one snag, it seem that BMW changed the wiring in these very recently. They removed several wiring harnesses and replaced them with a control module that only has 3 wires coming out of it, non ///M cars have 4 wires, therefore at the moment you are not able to power the mirrors with the motor that is inside the M5 mirrors.There is however a work round, the motor from the standard mirrors fits perfectly inside the M5 mirrors, so you swap the motors over and everything works just fine except the puddle illumination light that the M5 mirrors have built in the bottom of them. I am assured BMW will produce a new software coding sequence soon and then you will just swap the motors back over (30min job) and then everything will work including the puddle light.
A bit of a pain but they do look
