I have an opportunity to buy 4 - 17" OEM rims s(tyle 138 with 20mm offsets) to mount snow tires. The rims I have are the same style (138) but with 43 mm offsets for my 530ixt. I intend to acquire 225/50 - 17 snow tires. What are the negative affects of using these rims? Will doing so damage bearings etc?

Thanks in advance.

The rim/tires on the lower offset will protrude outside the fender well instead of tucked inside...
Other than it'll probably look odd ... over winter the car may get dirtier...

The dealer indicated that the difference in offsets (from 43mm to 20mm) would damage the bearings. Has anyone experienced this issue before?
