I've done NAV retrofit as well
The controller that you got seems ok.
(#6941801 --idrive controller high forcefeedback )

There are several other parts # for the controller, but 801 will do the job. (why dont you install it and see if it works since you got parts ready???)

Do you have FAN attached to CCC?
if not, you'll need
#61120396722 --ccc fan cable
#65836933200 --ccc fan

Also new two slotted (dvd& cd) front facia trim and you'll be set!!

Good luck!!

yea it should work without recode. Mine works without going to the dealer. Now the only problem is that the map sucks and the lady speaks too muffled and fast =P.

Please also check that you do not lose any functions like steering wheel auto up/down for easy entry/exit and also engine oil measurement and such. I lose these 2 functions with the new CCC. But I got extra bluetooth and voice command in german.

I'd really like to know more about what you did?

In order to get the DVD player to interface with the iDrive and the screen what type of tear down was required? Did you have to pull apart a lot of the dashboard?

What's the difference with business and pro NAV...I don't even think we have business NAV in North America?

Do you have the small or widescreen display in your car?

Thanks in advance...
Dunno if you found what you was looking for already but I have the small screen so I will only get the arrows and not the full map in the screen. Fitting the business nav is a breeze. Takes me 20min now to tear down the center console, switch the units and reassemble (still haven't got the coding done so I switched back so I could keep using my ipod functionality). Use the search function or PM me if you need more info. I have a DIY with plenty of pics, it's not translated yet though but there are anyway other decent ones already available here on the forum.

Please can someone explain the colour coding for the fan harness cable:
#61120396722 --ccc fan cable

RTSW cable to PIN 1
BR cable to PIN 5
WS cable to PIN 11

I need clarification on what RTSW/BR/WS mean. The unit is working but after about a hour of driving the CCC unit seems to heat the SAT NAV DVD and if you put another location in I normally get a read error so I think I may of wired the fan up wrong.

Thanks

Here you go.

Sw = Black
BR= Brown
Ws = White
RT = Red

Use the table on page 7 and the diagram. I don't really use the color code but rather use E1/E2/E3/E4 and match it to the diagram.

Thanks and the fan doesn't turn on immediately. takes a while or something...

My Ride: 520d M Sport Titanium Silver Retro fit's - Professional Sat Nav Footwell Lights BMW Bluetooth LCI Halogens with HID

Installed Professional Navigation today (Thanks wokingBigBoy for your help and advice) all is working and no coding required.
i went for a slightly older unit so i would not have any coding issues.
but i notice i dont have POIs like filling stations etc and i dont have the 3d view, does my car require a software update from the dealers to enable these.
Also 7 digit postcode was this with the latest DVD i am using 08-01
