So if you ebay search intercooler kits for the 535xi this is what comes up along with other inexpensive universal kits. I clicked for most expensive and this is what came up!

I think the 335 intercooler retrofit is not going to work. I spoke to someone at AR designs and he feels after looking at the front end of our cars, it just won't work. I have a friend who is a master welder and just simply knows how to build things. Im thinking of trying this Universal Kit to risking the 200$ see if he can make it work.

With the procede Standard V5 maps, intakes, and downpipes, Im going to be pushing 430-440HP. With spring/summer coming, I KNOW its going to be heat soaked and bad for the engine. I think member white535xi has same mods as me and has everything installed, he is definitely going to need it to. I think someone has to take one for the team and try SOMETHING out.

Ill do some google reviews on universal intercoolers but Im sure there DESCENT at best. Well see.

1700$ for a FMIC is out of the question as I found one for that price. NO THANKS!

Jesus.. Don't you think that intercooler is MASSIVE. It seems unnecessary to have that ridiculous intercooler for a 400+HP engine. Definitely a good link though that can get me some ideas.

I still have to read up some more and ask around about the Universal Intercoolers. That IC he has in the 535d is not the size I'd want in my car unless I swapped the turbos out and redid the entire engine.

Any other ideas?

So I went to my body shop with my M Tech front bumper and discussed about a Front Mount Intercooler. The big TOM one that is ridiculously huge which I showed some of the guys, they think it is to big and will be able to fit it, but when I sell the car, I wont be able to put the stock intercooler in because all the parts I'll have to cut to make it fit, will just be destroyed.

The best bet unfortunately is the 335 intercooler and basically taking one and test fitting it to see how it will sit. Only problem is its $770 from ETS and 500$ used on certain forums. Not really so excited to spend 500$ to HOPE we can make it work. Maybe my friend will be able to get me a 335 aftermarket intercooler that we could use to do some experimenting. Either way, BIG TOM or Geneatals, your link to that 535d, that intercooler is way to big and I don't want to destroy my front end and rig that monstrous thing in there.

I must keep researching and getting more info on the front end of our cars. ITS REALLY TIGHT! If I mess up the M Tech front bumper installing the IC, thats okay, Ill just replace the stock bumper when I sell the car, but if I mess with anything else inside, then the stock intercooler won't sit correctly. Lots of thinking and researching going on here!

i know it seems like a stupid idea, but what about stacking two stock intercoolers? I know aftermarket is the way, but the one the guy did in UK, we put the "big tom" next to my front and it was SO friggin big its going to be alot of cutting and custom work to fit that thing in. My buddy came up with the suggestion instead of destroying the front end of my car
