Yes! ... if you can afford the increased insurance premiums for such a car, and an endless gas bill. But if either of these even make you cringe even a little, this car seriously is not for you.
My insurance went up like 50 bucks a month stepping up from a Toyota Sequoia to an M5.

I'm sure I improved my fuel economy, too.

Well Im currently driving the Baby benz (w204 C-class) And I want something alot faster than C220 so Im thinking to go with E60 M5 .
Would you guys recommend E60 M5?

I have never driven E60 M5 but I have driven other E60 5-series and when I saw and heard the beast it was love at the first sight

No. Wrong move. Seeing you are in the MB brand, try this out...E63 AMG.

I am certain this beast would put to shame the M5 in the sound department. The M5 always reminds me of a clackety diesel at idle. BUT at WOT and high rev the M5 will sound nice though.

The merc has more bhp and has a faster time 0-60. All that is pub bragging stuff with your mates. finally you have to remember the e60 will soon be pensioned off. New model will be out. i would hate to be in the "older" car while everyone has moved on to the newer beast.!

If you are after all out gung ho performance, M5 is the one. If you after some power, tons of torque to scare anyone, easy driving, iDrive free... go for the Merc.

cheers

You are all a bunch of POST WHORES!!!

And I love it ahahahaa

OP, forget about an M5 - its for pussies. Get a 530Xi with a stick and try to hang with the V10s and V8s in the twisties - that's some real fun. Get a Lotus Elise and a nice used e60. Get a used Boxster S and a bare e90. Get a PS3 and a vacation home. No, scratch all of the above - GET THE M5!!!!!

Few if any members here have ever regretted getting a M5. But if any do and want to swap leases with a 550 and enjoy the lower insurance and fuel cots, let me know because I'm interested in such a swap.

Given the passion that our members feel for their M5's, I doubt that I will get any responses.

The bottom line for the OP is: if you can afford the M5 and want it, get it.

there's a REALLY nice Imola Red one out there...

I'm just saying if you need someone to help you drive the clunker back here, I guess, I could figure something out
