You really should check your local BMW dealership first. If the price is close to the $11 per quart for the many places across the internet you can buy it, you may as well buy it locally. At least that way, you'll save on shipping, since tax will most likely be less than shipping costs.

May be I should be more specific, thanks Geneatals,1600 and nobleforum. I am in Los Angeles California.

agreed to what nobleforums says above, since you are in LA you've got a plethora of dealerships around you so shop it around a little...

did you end up selling your iforged imola's?

congrats on the m5, nice upgrade from your 550

There IS in fact such a product, though i may claify by noting as S85 oil rather then M5 oil...BMW M and Castrol developed TWS 10-60 weight oil for the Ms needs, it can be bought at the dealer and few other online retailers, no other retail locations sells it afaik, i had searched hi and lo till i just said f-it and bought a case at the dealer, about $132 from what i recall.

Dealer $10-$12 just buy it there instead of nickle and dimeing it. What are you really going to save elsewhere? .50 per liter?

There definetley is "M5 Oil", in the perspective that it is not used in any other BMW make(other than the M6), Castol Synthetic 10W-60 is what is recommended to be used by the dealership, you can order this at pretty much any parts store (napa, cws, etc)

Its a fortune, and the M5 takes a boatload of it.. but its all what "BMW recommends" lol

Thanks!
Your dealer. I buy it from some of the cheaper dealerships and pay around $10/quart and buy it at a case at a time, especially since you should ALWAYS have one quart in your trunk at all times.

no, as long as it says OK, you're good, the last thing you want is it to be overfilled, then you got problems!
