I tried resetting smg like 10 times lol! didnt help. But through research I found the problem.

cars workin again. moral of the story. NO SPARES on the M5 in the front or back (obviously).

I had a 20 up front since my 19 got eaten buy that pothole a few days ago. so the 20's diameter is 1 inch smaller than my 19's with tires (20's have very low pro tire)

so. the car , thought i was turning at high speed since my 20 was spinning faster than my 19 so the "SMG Slip detection" was not functioning correctly causing the car to drop into neutral.

so the m5 comes with no spare for a reason. lesson learned!

i put my 20's on, on all corners and now the cars working.

ha great to know. Thank you. I'm sure in the future I would've done the same thing, but now I know.

Thanks

Looks like your clutch release system is not working properly. This means your shifting ( down or up ) is way tooo slow! It's either a software glitch or the clutch bearing!

Guys just to add, I bent another rim last week and was on my spare 19inch again for a week while my 20 was being repaired. This time, I didn't reset the flat tire warning the whole week while the spare was on and the car did NOT drop into neutral like it had last time.

so the lesson here is...

If you have to use a spare on the M5 (with SMG) do not reset the tpms/ftm until you are off the spare or your transmission will randomly drop into neutral. Hope this helps others who are having bad luck this winter with rims/tires!
