Well the BMW SA said this usually happens after 40k - 50k miles and my car had 70k miles on the clock when the pump failed. He said that the hydraulic pump usually lasts for 50k-60k miles so hopefully I should be good for another 2-3 yrs.

Perhaps the "dead animal smell" https://5series.net/forums/topic/979...dead-animal-s/ is from the result of your flywheel glazing and clutch pack falling apart, during the course of normal driving conditions.

https://5series.net/forums/topic/970...dified-by-hpf/ maybe you could reply to his post and see if you guys can trade ( as I'm sure your dad's got loads of cash) or work something out. It's got loads more whp and torque and I'm sure you've learned how to responsibly handle all that

I am sure that banned member "bmw550ifreak." would be begging his parents to redirect the new mod money into getting this 700 plus bhp deathtrap.
