The steering feels a little 'artificial' in the M5 with the EDC in comfort mode, but when I have it in sport, it feels very similar to the M3. As far as cornering, in my M3 I used to hit those 25 mph freeway onramps doing at least 50-60 in 2nd gear (no, not drifting) without any fear of loosing it. So far with the M5, I haven't pushed it that hard yet, but I've taken some turns at almost near double the speed limit w/o breaking traction (with EDC on sport). You can definately feel the weight of the car (400 lbs > M3) and it will take me some time to get used to. But I feel very confident in the cornering ability of the M5, more so than when I test drove the E63 AMG on the freeway (on the 10 East merging onto the 605 South in LA, I almost ate $h!t on the test drive with the E63). This morning on the way to work some idiot cut me off when I was merging onto the freeway doing about 70 and I went around him no problem, and he was less than 1.5 cars in front of me. It made my heart beat like crazy but I thank God I had a ton of 'drivers training' in the M3 to boost my confidence. The M5 definatley has more luxury, but just enough crispness in handling to put a smile on my face, with the M3 being the most 'raw' of the two.

man that is a awesome car!! You are a very fortunate person. I was wondering how much hp increase will you get out of these upgrades? Also if you think it is really worth it?

Thanks, I saw an opportunity and took it! Yes I do think it's worth it! I know the BMC filters + RPI scoops - charcoal removal should add about 10-22 HP (according to the threads on M5board) and the Eisenmann Race exhaust about the same. I want the exhaust more for the sound, so I'm going to wait a little before I get it so I'll enjoy the stock exhaust for now. But I have plans for EvoSport Pulleys, possibly sprintbooster. I really love the 2008 LCI tails, and I'm debating on buying the OEM 08 tails w/ Bruce's cables or the full blown OEM retrofit kit (once they make it available here), but I'd rather have the tails only rather than spend 2-3K on the full retrofit (I thinks it's a little steep for lights). We'll see.

Agreed on the steering; there is nothing like the response and razor sharp cornering of the M3. I pushed mine pretty hard every chance I could and always felt that you could go through that ramp faster tomorrow.
I guess its tough to duplicate in a bigger sedan despite an extra 100hp. So I appreciate the extra space and luxury instead. Enjoy the M5.
