VFE s/c = Vaporware. VFE is full of shite. I've already been through this with these guys. I've been to their office and spoke with them LAST YEAR 12/06. They promised a s/c for the 4.4/4.8 to be release 2nd quarter 2007, it's already 4th quarter. Nothing has materialized. BTW, there is absolutely no way the s/c is going to cost $6K. Try $9K. Sorry if I sound like an ass but I was fed up with VFE waiting forever and so has a lot of people.

$9K just for the s/c. Add another $1K - $2K for installation. There is no way the VFE s/c will cost $6K unless you have a e39 540i.

The most serious solution will be www.esstuning.com, within a year for 545i .
I heard VF doesn't use high quality materials for their kit (some parts made by plastic instead of metal) .

Id say for something like 10k on this.. you might just want to go M5.... the supercharger is cool but only 450hp.. and not to mention reliability, and tuning problems that may come.. along with warranty issues. id take the $ and look into a used M5...

Well, that 450 hp quote is with a very conservative boost at Stage 1 for the 4.4 engine. The 4.8 will be close to 500 hp. Change the pulley and the number will approach 500 for Stage 2 for the 4.4. Also, I haven't heard anything negative about their s/c kits. What I failed to mention in my previous post is that VFE has put all other s/c's on the backburner so that they can concentrate on releasing the s/c for the e46 M3. There's more demand there.

yeah but if the math is done wouldnt you agree that 10k more could get you in an M5 and get you the whole package of performance, speed, suspension ect ect ect....... rather than modding the 550.. and having to posibly deal with issues. just my .02

The end of E46 is last year and VFE still has not done with SC kit for it. My best bet for E60 SC availability won't be anytime sooner F10 coming out

There was a magazine that did a comparison test between a VFE s/c e46 M3 vs a Vishnu tuned 335i with PROcede v1.47. So, there is a s/c for the e46 M3.

A M is a M. In a way I'm kinda glad that VFE dragged their feet with the s/c for the e60, but instead of getting the M5 I defected to the enemy.
