My Ride: Now Driving a Freakin' Prius!
Was...
2004 545i | SMG | White/Black | Sport | NAV | Logic 7 | PDC | Fold-down Seats | Adaptive Headlights | Cold Weather Pkg | Clear-again Bra | Mud Flaps | Bluetooth | Coat Hangar | Aux Input | All Weather Mats | 18"X8.5" BBS RK w/ Michelin Pilot Alpin's (winter) | New steering rack @ 1.2K & 17K miles| Software V.19.1 | B&B Exhaust (vrrrroooooommm!) <---Click.
Saw my first M5 today. It was coming toward me in the other lane.
I noticed it right away, however it looked like it was sitting rather high off the ground.
I would have thought it would be lower than an e60 sport package.
Has anyone wlse noticed this?
(and yes - it was a "real" M5. I recognized the doctor who was driving it. He formerly had an e39 M5).

Agreed--my 545i w/ sport package sits lower than the E60 M5, especially in the front, where the M5 looks unusually high to me.

They probably spent more time engineering the look of the rear end given that is all many of us will be seeing.

Went to my dealer yesterday as they have two waiting to be delivered:
1 - Black Shapphire / Indy Red - loaded
2 - Silverstone / Black - loaded
Not so sure about the Indy Red interior, it's looks much more rustic or terra cotaa. I think I would be too chicken to get it after seeing it.
I must say that I loved the Silverstone My E39 M5 was Titanium Silver and the Silverstone might me a nice change.
I am begining to think the M5 looks better in the lighter colors, when I always thought the 5'ers looked better in darker colors.
Anyway, I think that I am going to wait for the first 2007 and perhaps the manual transmission! I just hope they don't limit your options if you choose the manual
Cheers,

Stream - I had heard/read that when the manual arrives, the option list will not be as extensive versus ordering the SMG. In other words, they want you to get the SMG!
I hope it's not true......
