sorry to confuse you. Just wrote down my info and experience.
I wanted a dealer M3 before I bought my brand new 530i but after some research I decided not to.
You might get lucky and buy a great car but there is a high chance of not to.
Especialy with M5 which there is a huge waiting list for. If a dealer has a car go there for a half a day and see how people drive the car. I remember when my dealer took me for a M6 test drive..... oh poor car
the problem is that you can't see inside the engine.....
if you go for it then definitely with warranty.....

but again my oppion is that if M5 then brand new one.

Production date is wrong. There were no M5?s produced during jan 2005!

My car was the first one produced ( after the 40 pre production cars ) feb 14 2005.

cidair, i spoke to the dealer and the car is one of the first one built for special clients ... i
dont know but it was registered on the 25th of january?

so is it preproduction then ?

They are talking BS IMO! It must be one of the preproduction cars. Maybe not driven by journalist, but most likely is.

All I know is that my car was the FIRST customer production car!

Although listed, I don't see the HUD in the picture.

Just my 2 cents...
I realize you're trying to save money on this one and get yourself into an M5, but I think this is the wrong way to save. It's all a crap shoot. New or used, a used car has a higher likelihood of needing repair. Add to this the 'possibility' that it may have been a demo adds extra risk.

yes but unlike cidair, i am 20, and dont have this much money for a 4th car... the only way to do
it is to get my father to contribute for the lease but this is a last resort option

Go with your head and not your heart. Get a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. List down the pros on the left column and the cons on the right. See what you come up with.

You are young; very young. Do not use your age as an excuse for mistakes as they may well ruin you for the rest of your life. In fact this is the best age to start exercising your reasoning powers.

Sorry if I may have unintentionally insulted you, but you may soon realise that THIS was the wake-up call you needed and was sub-consciously asking for which is why you have unintentionally baited us for bad feedback and objected to them.

Cheers!!
