Hey proud owners of the almighty M5 I was just wondering what your use of the M5 is....a weekend car, daily driver, used for competitions. I'm contemplating what the benefits would be for upgrading to an M5 and if it would be a practical daily driver with all the gas consumption, fear of dents on a daily basis etc etc. was just wondering if you guys/gals could shed some light for me on this topic.

Thanks in advance

I use mine as a weekend car.

Unfortunatelly here in Brazil it is dangerous a daily use ...

Fuel tank is too small

Daily driver, but used more during the week for business than for pleasure, as the wife has an A4 Cab that we use as the general runaround. I've covered 4500 miles in 3months.

I've also done & will continue to do some track days in my M5, including Nurburgring, Spa, Oulton Park & Silverstone.

Daily driver. It doesn't matter what I paid for the car, I'm always in fear of paint scrapes and door dings. Having the M5 only made that a marginally greater concern due to its price tag and my doubled efforts to keep it looking pretty. The mileage is bad, but it's not terrible. I average about the same as my Toyota Landcruiser in normal use, but on road trips get close to 20mpg. The gas tank is small for the mileage of the car, but oh well.

I'm also a daily driver, but I don't put that many miles on. Gas milage isn't the greatest if you know what I mean.

All of the above - but haven't tracked the car yet. I will be taking it to the strip and track when the weather cools off a bit. I drive this car every chance I get - 24,000 miles in 8 months!! Cidair - I'm catching up!!
