Just took delivery of the "beast".... so hello all and looking forward to learning as much as possible about this car.

08 Silver Gray / Indie Red interior
SMG
comfort
soft close

ect....

Just came from an 05.5 Audi S4/MT and loved it, but this is a VERY different car. Just trying to control myself during break in and get used to the SMG. Got some mods in mind already prob carbon fiber kidney grills and side vents, H&R springs and spacers. Still researching exhaust's but not sure just yet.

Thanks for the info I'll check it out. Tubi looks interesting also and I have a dealer close to me.
I ran a Milltek resonated exhaust (downpipes back) on my S4 and loved it. No cabin drone whatsoever and "loud" to me when it was supposed to be.

Welcome to the board! Congrats on the new beast!

Thank you sir!

Couple quick questions:
When going thru the gears in SMG mode does one lift the gas lightly or not?
Also once broke in is it a bad thing to drive the car in P500 most of the time?

You don't have to lift the gas. That's the beauty of it!

With regards to P500 mode, it shouldn't be a problem to drive this way most of the time after the break in period. Nothing in the manual says you should only be in this mode "some of the time". If it was, I would probably sue BMW. hahaha T he downside will be your gas and oil consumption.

You dont HAVE to lift the gas... but if if you do lightly the shifts will be smoother.

Thats a rule! after break in you can ONLY drive in P500 mode.
