The 550i is a great car, but to be honest I'd get the 335i. Drop a JB3 in that car and you'll be pushing 380hp easy. Save the M5 for a later point on time. A CPO M5 is great, but gas will KILL you and if your younger you'll want a younger car that suits you better. A JB3 tuned 335i will kill just about everything on the road in a straight line. And for Gods sake, PLEASE get a stick shift. If you get the M5 then go for the SMG, but if you get the 335i avoid that horrible slush box, a car with that much potential and a automatic is a waste. Where do you live anyway?
+1 335i FTW!

thanks for your advice :], i live down here in socal and yeah im tryna find a e92 stick its so hard to find but i might get the one from www.reveuro.com the alpine whitee one 07. I'd still like the m5 though ahha it seems like a really beefy looking nice powerful car. I was also considering a 07 gs, or a subaru sti. im still young and want to have fun. my brother recently got his 2009 gtr and i guess i wanted a m5 to at least try to keep up with him!

if you drive 150 miles per day you will need to fill the M5 once a day @ ($50/tank). I get roughly 160 - 170 miles before the gas light comes on. On my 535i i get approximately 250-280 miles per tank. With the 335 you may get slightly better gas mileage depending on your driving style.

my vote is for the 335i due to the miles you are looking to drive in it and the cost of mods you can put on/in it...not as pricey as an M5's mods and mpg's

whichever bmw you get, please drive safe and respect the engine and it's power

+1 on the cost of parts, most mods on the 335 are much cheaper and more readily available. Turbo mods actually improve gas milage. The m5/NA mods will definitely cause a loss of mileage

+1 for the respect and driving carefully

I know their not every ones cup of tea, but a 535d with a remap would give you around 350 bhp, loads of torque, good gas mileage and a freakin quick car. I know i know diesel, but I'm telling you, test drive one.
Just thought I'd add my 10 cents worth.

True but the 335d is. Imagine what that sucker could do with an ECU remap.
