Cidair - new ?? for u. Reading on another forum gasp, a comment by a non-US location taking delivery of M5 that he was told by dealer that BMW claims 1 qt oil every 1000 KM had to be added. Were u told the same thing and / or is that ur experience?

That seems about right for the first 5000km. After that the oilconsumption ( and fuel cns. ) goes down noticeably.

Ah, ok only during the break in period so to speak. With 21000 Kms on odo do u think ur at 1qt/5000km or better?

That figure seems abou right. It?s actually hard to say due to the inexact measuring system. No dipstick!

I?ll try to record some sound clips.

There is no dipstick for the oil. Only a electronic system that?s not the best one IMO. Seems a little unreliable. Rumours says that there is a new software available?
