Hi.... Hope it may help..
I would think.. your injectors are leeking flooding the cylinders, head gasket, water geting in the cylinder..? my dads car did the almost same thing. But it didn't work. He checked his bmw manual for his reference founding that there's no possible answer there for his problem. The only solution he found is the car dealer.
Yes they're right... it is really need to checked by your car dealer as soon as posible. Goodluck to you!!! -newb.

Its about 1 quart of oil every 1,500-2,000miles... if you use ///M Power! lol... I wouldn't go as far as saying .1L every 10 seconds... I'm not sure if that was a sarcastic joke or not lol... It does eat alot of oil though. I never go anywhere without a quart in the trunk because the electronic guage sucks and only takes good readings on long trips. It is possible to go from .5 to .1 within 60-100miles because the guage is so stupid and will start taking readings finally and just surprise you...
"Oh hey buddy... I forgot to check, but just letting you know, we're almost out of oil... yea... sorry about that one..."

Woah, that's a lot more than I'm use to. Then again, I've never owned a 10 cylinder car before. ![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
At any rate, has this been accepted as 'normal' behavior for this motor?
I really think the dealer should top it off as part of the maintenance for this vehicle if this is considered normal.

Everytime I hit the Power button, my M5 eats up .1liter of oil every 10 seconds or so. Does everyone experience this problem? Does it ever go away? Why the hell did BMW make a power button if it is going to eat up all the oil to protect the engine?
With moderate use, my M gets ~1,800 miles per liter. When driven gently in city traffic, I don't notice the oil level decreasing over hundreds of miles, yet when driven on the track or at high highway speeds, my V10 can consume 3/10 or 4/10 of a liter in a few miles.
