Exactly. Plus the auction prices shot up this week. My buddy sold an 06 well optioned with 40kish miles in blue book good condition for 38,450 and 2 others in same condition/mileage went for 37k+ and none of them were CPO'd. Meanwhile there's cars sitting around privately for $35k for months. This car market is crazy.

o i don't have champagne pockets either... I just work with extended warranties on a daily basis and realize who the one's making out are (obviously, not the consumer.) I would rather take care of my own bills then have someone make money off my purchases. This is my personal opinion and how I've lived my life and I take care of my possessions and maintain them, and the repair bills never end up costing me as much as a warranty, never the less, freak problems do happen and I understand why these are available but I'm a gambling man and so far (not to jinx myself) i've come out on top.
I have the same attitude as yours hence the fact that I never buy any extended warranty even though the Mrs always get hooked in, even for the small purchase. My train of thought is within couple of years, the product I own will be either too outdated or will not perform to my standard and it's time for me to replace it. As for the car itself, I usually drive it for 3 to 4 years max then start searching for an upgrade.
