Any thoughts on the new Camaro SS's?
Can I race one in P400 and have a chance? I am doing this for a friend! I will race the camaro and then race his 335 and compare notes.
I have a friend with a tuned 335 that's got a grudge with a Camaro SS owner and wants to beat him badly. Unfortunately, I don't know how well these chevy's perform!
I will assume the camaro is stock, but what about mods? How fast can these new camaros get?

I would say the race with P400 would be close..
The SS runs 4.9 (0-60) "insideline.com" and 13.4 (1/4 mile). They also claim that it will run 4.6 sec (0-60) and 13.3 (1/4 mile) in the SS automatic (400 hp)!!! which is strange, but they comment that they "optimized the shift points". I would say your 400 hp compared to his 400 hp is much better/faster, but this is just my guesstimated opinion. Just unleash that 507hp and dust him!!!

Hope this helps somewhat.

I think Ahmed is racing the Camara in P400 so that his friend in the modded 335 has a reference point, that's why he's not doing it in P500S.
Here's a video member BMWPower06 posted of him running in P400 against a stock 335 sedan. They looked kinda even so I would think the Camaro SS will beat you in P400 as well as a stock 335. It may also depends if you guys are doing a 0-60 or rolling high speed runs.

From a line the Camaro SS will get the jump because of the torque. From a rolling start I think it would be pretty even if you were in P400 mode.
No matter what, race him in P500S and post the results!

People have been getting insane power levels from a "blown" LS series motor for years. Add a S/C and you are talking 600-700hp. Just check the CTS-V or ZR-1 specs.
