No - it is not available as an option. I really miss that feature - had it on my 545.

I love this feature on my new 550i. In fact, I prefer it to heated seats which I only use for a short while then shut off. I guess I could live without it, though, if I had an M5.

I could live without it too for an M5. I wonder why it isn't an option. Seems silly since the front and rear seats can be heated.

I'll ask and see if I can get a reason. I can't think of a good one offhand.

This may seem silly, but do you think the thickness of the wheel has anything to do with it?


Wolverine, do you ever think Active Steering will be an option on the M5?

I have the Sports Package and CWP on my 545i and I have the heated steering wheel.
