Trevligt.

I think they have made some special arrangements/transport for these demo cars.

Maybe, sounds resonable.

I such case my car will probably be delivered w.11 as well. To bad starting with winter tyres... Do you have any input on the best looking winter rims?

I have a 330 and an X5 already but no experience of E60 rims. Thought I saw a
set of M rims on the new 5 series touring that was similar to the original M5 rims but
17". Any input from a pro like you?

Any creative ideas on insurance? Tennant refuse to insure it.

Best wishes for 2005!

I will keep the style 124 18" rims with Pirelli Snowsport from my 545.
Hopefully they will have similar offset as the M5 rims.

If I?m lucky there will be no need for these until next winter ( Swedish west coast! ).

As for insurance, I don?t have any good idea yet.

This is not a high revving engine,? it is an engine that CAN rev high.? You must also consider the extra two cylinders take some wear away from normal use.? The biggest problem with high revving engines (motorcycles,? race cars set up for 1/4 mi.)? is valve bounce,? and it's relation to camshaft wear (BMW has put in an extremely stiff one) and lifter separation, the amount of pressure put on lifter springs is usually innapropriate in porportion to high compression (ie. they don't make em' good enough to handle the load)? VANOS and the use of hydraulics will take care of most of that problem.

There are three ways to significantly increase HP? ?

1) Install a blower,? would the E60 look good with a blower stack sticking 8" out the hood?

2) Turbo,? BMW seems to shy away from this idea (also worse wear and tear on the motor)

3) Raise the RPM ceiling which increases HP across the entire power curve (smooth power)

To top this off slap a 7 speed in this puppy to handle the load and you got yourself a four door race car?

Hey, you forgot the good ole' American way - increase the displacement!

What was that big CHANGE? Remember BMW said there was going to be a BIG change across the range of the E60 that was not noticable to the eye but was certainly big enough to delay the M5 because they wanted to incorporate it into the M5 before releasing it.

What was that BIG change? it was suppose to be incorporated into the cars in early 2005, as in early 2005 year like jan feb or march build cars what happened? what was it?

See post 32 on page 3.

was that true?
