Good news--I sent BMWCCA an email to confirm that the M5 is eligible for the Membership Rewards program, and it is--here's the text of the email, and I've attached the check request form:

Good morning. Yes, BMW NA just added the M5 to the list of eligible vehicles. Please contact me with any further questions.

It was always eligible wasnt it? for the E39 M5 I thought... So I never thought they discontinued it... M5 is "just" another 5 series... so $1K off...

WOW... so a 525i bare bones gets $1K off and a Fulkly loaded M5 gets $1K off only?

The E60 M5 was only added as an eligible car last Friday. Apparently the E39 M5 was ineligible for some time after launch, then was added to the eligible car list. Seems the E60 ineligibility was much shorter than the E39!

Good confirmation news!

I too just assumed that it was always eligable as a 5 series model. The forms never stated that the M5 was excluded, although on the BMWCCA webpage i think that it did state that in the text. So my plan was to submit the form anyway as a 5 Series to see what happens since the form does not have a specific box for an M5 and doesn't say it's excluded. I guess I will find out for sure in a month or so. Thanks. Tom.

BTW, what constitutes an "odometer statement" as the form requires. Do I just write a little sheet with the mileage? Or take a picture for them - Anyone know? TIA.

In CA there use to be a seperate form with how many miles is on the car when you bought it... now its just incldued / written on the same page of your as your bill of sales or the leasing agreement. you know that long peice of paper where you signed your life away...
