M5 mpg
#11
I get about 15 MPG during the week in mixed highway and twisty stuff. I live off the beaten path so I have about 10 miles of twisty stuff and 30 miles of highway. On the weekends (all twisty stuff) I get about 10 MPG (but have a lot more fun).

The OBC shows 10.5 for me. I'm always stuck in moderate traffic on the weekdays.
I realize we shouldn't care about gas mileage in a car like this but it's annoying as hell to pump every other day. haha

I consider the question reasonable. In U.S. mpg I get 13.5 city and 20 highway. I use 500 mode all the time. This is average milage so far, I have 20,000 km on the car. The car likes gas but nothing unusual for a car this weight and 500 hp. I wish the tank was bigger but that would require a trade off in performance. I use a quarter tank a day on average.

Me too, this goes for e60 550 as well...wish it was a 20-22 gal tank for sure! It's not the poor gas mileage but the freaquency you have to fill up. I believe AMG benz have even smaller tanks but I could be wrong.

So I've clocked in about 500 miles on my '08 M5 and am averaging about 11 miles per gallon. Certainly a shock from what I was getting in my 530i but hey, sometimes you gotta pay for what you really, really want.
No regrets on my M5 other than gas mileage. It' a small price to pay for the awesome power.
I'm starting to make good friends with the local Chevron gas station attendant since I'm visiting there more often now.
