OK. So if the gas costs you another $200 - or even $500 a year, you're saying that you may not buy the car??

Nope.

All I am saying is that I'd rather make a decision based
on a number rather than an intuition that says "the additional gas expense
is not that much as compared to the cost of the car". Just another
point of view - maybe important for some but not so important for others.

...and btw, I estimated about $200 per month. That means about
$2400 per year.

I fully agree! That's why some of us would try to make a compromise between price and fun!
I really don't know what will happen to the fuel prices over long time...i'm a bit worried in that matter! Maybe over 20 years the price would be so high that very few people would afford to have conventional powered cars. Not to mention supercars like the M5 or other greater league! Over 50 years almost all the reserves of petrol would have gone...and that's scary!

If I could afford an Emmy, I'd not worry about gas consumption. I'd be concern about gas price J/K

A lot of fat people here driving SUV with 16/17 mpg as a daily commute donkey which drives like dung heap. If M5 consumes the same amount of gas, why not go for it.
