Hi Guys, I have an 05 545i that I love but I want a new(er) car and on my list is:

BMW M5 (07-08)
Mercedes E55/63
Audi RS4.....maybe

What I don't like, and I saw this yesterday again on the highway, is that most M5's seem to ride higher in the front than the rear....at least the wheel gap is higher. Is there a reason for this or a way to fix it? I don't like the look too much.

Where do you live? Are you in the US?

I beleive US cars sit higher in the front than the european spec cars.. due to US bumper height regulation.

 

The M5 doesn't ride higher in front than the rear. If you look at the car directly from the side, you'll see that the bottom of the car is level. The reason it looks like the front rides higher than the back is the front wheel arch is larger (higher). Unfortunately, because of this design, it'll always be a compromise. If your front & rear wheel gap (distance from top of tire to the top of wheel arch) is equal, the side of the car will have a rake to it (front of car is lower than rear). If the car has no rake, the front wheel gap will look bigger. You just need to find a compromise that works for you.
