Im about to rebuild my friends car. And he is looking to get the most power out of his car. Im contemplating on throwing in a s85 in the car. Has anyone here done this? He has a 06 550i

i'm looking at a motor from a 06, M5 and was thinking about dropping it in my ride?? let me know how it goes

S85 only makes ten more ft/lbs more torque than the 4.8 stock motor. S85 has all it power on the top end, the stock 4.8 V8 is great in the mid range and makes it really easy to drive in normal everyday driving. All the work and money and mods needed to make it work right I don't think it's work it. Would be easier and cheaper to just go out and buy an E60 M5 now with the way the prices are tanking on them. They can be picked up for mid $20K's now.

Will be probably cheaper and easier to just bolt on a supercharger kit like this: (And you'll have more torque than the stock S85)

Toss a turbo on it! One guy did it to his 530 and it didn't look too terribly painful.
