Which m5 do i choose?
1. 2006 BMW M5 20k Miles not ceritified. Warranty ends at 2010.

2. 2006 BMW M5 30K Miles certified. Warranty ends at 2012.

There both the same and the ceritifed one is about $2k less. Which is the best to choose? Is 30k miles alot for this car?
IMHO it's a no brainer, go with the warranty you will have piece of mind. 30k miles isn't bad. But like I said with the warranty on your side I would take the higher mileage car.

Good luck with your purchase and be sure to post some pics.

You may also want to check out the M5Board. They have tons of great advise on there too.

I would lean towards number 2 too! I would rather get CPO..It just would make me feel better. It depends on you bro. Best of luck.

Apparently BMW just started CPO'ing M5's less than a month ago.

So for the person that purchased a M5 a couple months ago, no, your car is not certified.

The new CPO program is only for later 2008 M5 & M6 models and 2006/2007 is SOL?

I don't think so, BMW has been CPO'ing M cars even earlier than last month... see this other thread,
http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=650383

and this search I performed on the BMW website produced certified M5 cars as far back as a 2003 model,

I would definitly buy the one with less miles.

Depending on what kind of relationship you have with your dealer, you can always sell it to your dealer, have them CPO it, and then have them sell it back to you. I believe the CPO kit for the M cars is $2,800 for 2009. And if the car needs new tires at the time that they are doing the CPO inspection, you have to buy those as well. So it can get kind of pricey. But it then it gives you the piece of mind of a 100K warranty. My dealer does this all the time. You just have to make sure they get it all approved so the GM does not try to sitck some profit back into the deal when they sell it back to you.

You could also go out and buy an extended warranty for the car instead of doing this to give you coverage up to 100K. www.twinkidneygrill.com is a great place for exnteded BMW warranties.

It adds up to the bottom $$$ line.

Either way, your new M5 will be bad ass. If I did not drive a ton a of miles a day, I would get one.

Good luck with whatever you do!
