nice purchase. would be keen to hear your views on the differences in motoring between M3 and M5.
i have the LCI, and love the new tailights .. i had a pre-LCI 545i, and think the new lights are a nice touch.
what are the other details of your machine? (colour, interior etc)
i had no idea that the new nav disc had speed cam upgrade. will have to call my dealer.

p.s. just called dealer. they said that I have the latest disc already, and that BMW don't endorse speed cam data into their nav discs.
you say you've already got it .. are you sure it has speed cam POIs? if so, how do i get my hands on one for myself?

Black exterior
Black leather.
Extras list:
Active Seats
Active lights
Extended voice control (no used it yet)
Rear blinds
Rear tints (sun kit?)
Comparison:
the M3 seemed much sharper to drive. you feel the weight of the M5 if you try to throw it about. It is easier to drive the 3 round town the 5 with the SMG. On the open road the 5 shrinks round you and is totally rapid.
Also you feel a bit more disconnected in the 5, since the M5 keeps the road noise, engine noise and exhaust noise a lot more muted. Its not as obviously "angry", hence the exhaust.
One thing you notice is that the m5 is quicker when you really boot it, but just not as nimble.
Ohh yes and the fuel consumption , 17-20 mpg vs. 21-25 mpg (some times up to 28).

On the Sat Nav thing, just followed some instructions on the WEB:
Used my official BMW 2008-2 DVD
used some speed camera POI's from my TomTom
used the instructions on the web
then wasted 6 or 7 dvd's before i managed to get it to work.

i hear you on the M3 being more nimble. the M5 is good for straight line .. just never stops accelerating!
i do however, find it plenty angry in terms of noise. but, with all windows up, it does become muted.
happy driving .. welcome to the club!
