Nothing since my break-in service at 1200 miles. I have now almost 3000 miles and the oil level has not changed. I also just rest my oil indicator just to make sure it was working. I drive the car farily aggressively (P500 sport) 99% of the time.

I need to top it off every 1000 miles or so. The service indicators in iDrive said it was 1 qt low. Which is fine since it's free and comes with a free wash at the dealership drive through service lane.

After my 1200 mile service, I probably burned an average of a liter every 1500-2000 miles. Since my oil change at 16,000 miles, now at 18,800, I haven't burned even 0.1 liter, and that is with several checks over the past few weeks of the electronic dipstick.

7000 miles and have been going through 1litre every thousand miles dealer says to wait until 16000 mile service and should improve? should be a complimentary re-fill in between services as i can only get oil from the dealer at ?22.00 per litre bit of a rip off i feel!

1.3L to 0.7L going from 0mi to 1200mi.

0.7L to 0.2L going from 1200mi to 2600mi (which is where I am now).

Need to put some oil in right now. Castrol 10W-60 is what I'm being told. Although no one seems to carry it except the dealer.

Yes it's Castrol... it's called TWS 10W-60. Good luck finding it anywhere but the dealer. Very difficult to locate, and your local autoparts store is not one of the places you'll be able to get it, even if you try having them order a case. Some dealers price is reasonably ($9-10 or so), others are charging $15+. My local dealer does top-offs for free, but I heard that recently they upped the price from the $9/qt I paid a year ago to $15+. Probably to make up for the free top-offs.

www.bavauto.com carries TWS. I believe Turner Motorsports does as well.

Bought two bottles for $16 + tax at the dealer. Not bad.

Just found out castrol edge (not sport) is the same oil as the TWS which is an exclusive to the BMW dealer, and half the price.
