I have a 545i, own it, just heard a rumor that expensive cars such as the m5 are better to lease? If they are, how much are lease rates going for? Thanks in advance.

My dealership wants $1600/month with $8K down for a 24 month lease and 10K miles/year.

Two factors to getting a favorable lease:

1. Money factor: (.xxxx) * 2400 = APR e.g. (.0036) * 2400 = 8.64; Not a good MF.
2. Least amount of $$$ $over invoice or dare I say, get the M5 under invoice. Latter is wishful thinking.

if that is on a 2008 and not six speed and loaded then that is a pretty good deal.

I just ended a BMWFS lease on my '06 M5.

Based on $93k, $0 down, $1650/month for 24 months, 10k miles/year, $68k buyback.

My dealer has an '08 I test drove with an MSRP of $91,745, and is willing to sell it to me at invoice, which is around $84.5K. With $2K down plus acq. fee, and the current MF of 0.00295 for 24mo. with 12K miles/yr (72% residual), it comes to $1151/mo. (and then add our 10% PA lease tax = $1266/mo).

$0 down and just acq. fee, $1240/mo (not including tax), $1364 with tax.

Now if I could only get rid of my current 530xi!!! And then I still couldn't afford it!

If you're getting a 72% residual that's great. I was recently shown the current BMWFS residuals by my SA. On the 24mon, it appeared to be 68%. A far cry from my '06 M5 BMWFS 24mon lease which was at 74% residual.

The residuals for January are listed here, and this is the residual my dealer used as well (add 2% to listed residuals for 12K miles):
