I went down from 1500 Euro per year to 1380 Euro per year when I switch from my BMW 540i to the M5

My Ride: 2005 530i upgraded to 2007 550i 12/20/06 Took delivery of 2008 M5 3/25/08 cf delete K&N filters, the rest stock.

Mine went down, as I turned 50 years old, same time I got the M5.
550- 808 for 12 months.
M5- 728 for 12 months.

I'm not sure, but I do know it went up slightly from my 530. I have 3 cars and all are lumped together under one policy. I do know that when I spoke to Geico about adding my M5, they said the M5 is in a completely different classification than that of a 530/550 or any other 5 series, for that matter. I believe the standard 5's are considering "luxury", whereas the M5 is considered "luxury" AND "sport", thus making the coverage higher due to falling into both categories. It's also dependant on age, where you live and driving record. If I lived in Manhattan, the insurance would be much greater due to risk of damage/theft being much higher.

Overall though, it didn't make too much of a dent in my pocket.

I pay $384 for 6 months with state farm! But I also have multi-car discount.

I paid $90/month when I had mine...same insurance, deal as above.

paid 1200 for 6 months but was told if i take driver defense course they could drop it by $200.

im paying around 3400 for 6 months.

...im 21 and its my first car. im considering switching to just liability which will cost me around 700ish per 6 months.
