How much do you owners pay a month for your M5 on insurance? I know every car is split up into a insurance category for risk. Is the M5 in one of the highest categories?

I pay about $1600 every six months for me and my wife. It was trippled what I paid for my 545 and I have a clean driving record.

I don't know the specific amount I pay for my newly acquired M5 (because there are 3 cars on the account and they are not delineated), but our total bill went up $320 for the year when I switched from the 550i to the M5 in our coverage.

My annual payment increased by ~$180, or $15 a month when stepping up from the 550i to the M5. As my agent said, not enough to keep me from getting the M.

Many moons ago, I live in Houston. Then I took a job in rural Pa, thinking that my insurance would drop drastically where the town in PA had one traffic light.

It actually went up--because of the deer in northern PA. Everyone hits one about once per year if you drive in the evening or at night. Almost hit a bear once too.
