What milage did you guys need to change the brakes on the M5 and what is your driving style?

I'm debating buying the extended maintenance, I dont think I'll make it before the 4yr 50K miles to get the brakes replaced. The iDrive shows 6K left on fonts and 5K left on rears. But for the past 7,000 miles that I've driven the iDrive has only dropped 1K miles on the front and 1k miles on the rear. I do roughly 70% highway and 30% local. But I'm assuming with another "additional" I'll catch the brakes.

As the pads wear the sensors wear too. Your pads are fine. Idrive calculates the next pad change on how you drive the car and how harshly you brake over the last 1000 miles. My idrive front pads showed 9,000 miles in Sept. Now it shows 11,000 because I don't treat the breaks harshly coming into winter.

You can go a long time; the big pads and rotors are good for something. I think that my first replacement of the rear pads and rotors came at about 65K miles. I'm now just about the replace the fronts at 99K. My driving is mixed but I am not hard on the brakes - use engine downshifting most always. I was surprised at how much I got out of them.
