I know this is not the best place to post this question since the answers may swing with M5 but here it is.
In the next couple weeks I will be in the market for either of these machines just wondering how many of you have or would consider a cls55amg over or with the M5. Or if any of you guys maybe have owned a cls55 or know of any one that has 1.
I like both cars considerably alot. As a current owner of an E60 i kind of want to try something else besides just a new body and a monster engine.. i know the M5 is a beast iv'e driven one before but wondering if the cls 55 is far behind as a consideration for most.. I like how the cls looks lowerd with staggerd wheels which is what id do and the possibility of upgrading it with a chip ect to produce more power superchareged. Any suggestions with comments to back them up would be greatly appreciate it... pls try not to just write M5 hands down... looking for a little more technicalities between both machines... thanks in advance...

yes all auto... if i were to get the M5 it would be SMG not 6spd so its not a big driving difference to me SMG or Auto.. both cars have paddle shift.

I'd want to try the CLS if i was comparing the two and make a judgment based on that, I like the look of the CLS in person but i think it looks too snail like in pictures, M5 is more photogenic in my opinion. The interior seems more luxurious than the m5 if that's important to you.

voted! m5! IMO, M5 looks sporty-luxurious type of sedan while cls55 amg only looks luxurious to me. But that is a no brainer I'd choose the M5, it's the beast of all beast!!!

How much value do you put in handling, steering feedback, and road feel? If you don't care too much then consider the CLS 55. The CLS 55 will have an air suspension which will make it ride super smooth, is nose heavy unlike the 50/50 weight distribution of the M5, has 5 speed vs 7 speed, but shifts smoother than the brutal SMG. Did that help in your decision?

Thanks all good points... considering I live in south Fla.. the terrain here dosent really allow for one to enjoy the true suspension of the M5... there are no mountains, Hills, or curvy roads to really enjoy and put the car to the test.. the only curves we get here are the ones getting on and off the highway thats about it... also during the summer it sure rains alot here... so the suspension comparison although it is a good 1 is pretty much irrelevant since both cars would be driven more straightline performance and just top speed runs with maybe an ocasional curve when jumping on the highway... with this in mind any other supporting comments for the cls55?? im reaserching as much as i can about it to really decide what attributes the cars have that i would likely put to use... I like the air suspension thats a def +...

I love the e60 and all but there is just something about that cls55 that makes me drool. If I had the money I'd be in one of those.
