Handling M5 vs 535i (lighter)

My Ride: Retired 2008 535i Titanium-silver with sport, premium, steptronic, NAV, HUD Retired 2006 525i

Apart from the speed, does the M5 handle any better than the 535i which is lighter.

Sure does. Building an M is not just about the engine.

completely different suspension components in the M... also no spare and a centered battery helps weight distribution

Actually, all BMW's are designed with a 50/50 weight ratio; M or not. Why do you think the battery is in the rear on the E60? Because the engineers needed a spot to throw 20 lbs in the rear. LOL! I learned this when I was at the BMW Performance Driving School in South Carolina a few weeks ago.

funny even the big 7 series has a near perfect 50/50 learn something new everyday!
