2006 m5 with 1,600 miles for less than $75K. What's your opinion?

Looks like an OK deal. Good set of options on it too.

There are a few 2006 M5s for sale that have similar miles but are asking $3,000 to $5,000 more. Perillo BMW here in Chicago has 3 of them with only 100 miles each, but very few options on the cars, and they are asking $80k+.

One concern I would have with such a low mileage example is ... did it spend all it's time in the shop? But I'm sure you could get the service records and find out.

Is it the color scheme you want? Got the right options? If so, go for it!

Yes, it's the color I really like and the options are a plus and not necessarily a "must have." I think the price can be nego. alittle lower. The only obstacle now coming up with an extra $10K. I go a green light for $65K from the boss (and selling my 545i of course), but it looks like it will take awhile to save for the difference. I'll keep looking.

Thanks.

You must have the same boss I do ... the wifey.

I keep waiting for the price gap to narrow (between what I can get from my 550 and a nice used M5), but it is holding steady at about $22-25k ... which is just about where it was when new.

Not to change your thinking totally and it is a totally different car, but you can find some nice 997 Carrera S in the 65k range now. Maybe that isn't a car that suits your needs at all, but there are some in that range if you were so inclined. I don't think I would go into the 80's for a used M5 considering if you are diligent you can find a brand new one for 82-85

I'm a fan of Porsche, particularly the 911 TT, but at this point in my life, I have to lug around 2 small children for the next 17+ years between a sedan or an SUV (already have). . . unless some extra financing come around . . . which is practically rare. An upgraded performance sedan is really a blessing. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm sure you should be able to find some M5s in the mid to high 60s soon. I had seen a few around $68K-$69K a few months ago but I believe they had previous SMG issues that were fixed after a buy-back from BMW.

Yikes, I want to avoid buy-back cars and something with low mileage.

I agree. You can find a new one for under 85k without too much trouble. The M5 has been out for a while now, and the long term reviews aren't all positive. This is a good thing for people waiting to pick one up for less than the current sticker. Give it another 6 months and see how the pricing is. It's definately not going to go up.

I just got an 08 for $7,200.00 below sticker and probably could have gotten more but I thought it was a reasonable deal and it was from my local dealer were I get service. They have 3 with 5speeds.
