Going with aluminum trim...for now.

My dealer tried to put an Individual order in for Piano Black, but were told that Individual will not be available for US M5's for at least a year. The dealer is quite willing to order the trim separately for me, and install it if I want though. Looking at this website:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showpart...614&hg=91&fg=40
It looks like the total trim package will cost around $1500, with probably another $500 or so for installation. That's probably comparable to the Individual cost anyways, without the delay in delivery.
For now, I'm going to see how I like the aluminum trim. I've ordered an aluminum ebrake handle from Bimmian - it looks really sharp. I'm hoping this will really 'pull together' the aluminum trim, the SMG and Idrive pieces. An aluminum trim piece for the rear console would be great also, but I don't see this offered. I'll post some pic's when I've received the car, and installed the handle. Hopefully I'll like it. Otherwise, it looks like the Piano Black isn't too difficult to install at a later date.
How do you people that ordered the E60 M5 aluminum trim like it? Is it 'high quality'? Does it scratch or dent easily? Is it similar to the E46 M3 trim?

I've been toying with the idea of piano black trim for my light grey interior as well.
I wonder how close you could come by taking all the trim off and having it professionally painted high-gloss black ?
Has anyone who removed their door panels any info to share on how difficult this is to do - will I really need the special tools described to do the job, or can I pry off Airbag-emblems and doorpanels with normal tools and a bit of patience?
