My Ride: BMW m5
Model Year: 2017
Default

Hello Everyone,

I am an ex maxima enthusiast used to hang out a lot with maxima.org crew. My nick was maximaGTR. I decided to get an M5 its 2007 to drop my obsession with maximas and go the German way. I got a few question to ask. Car does not come with ipod adapter and also Comfort access system. How hard is it to add them on. Also any decent spoilers I can get for M5. What else I need to know about this card beforehand. I used to do lots of mods myself on my car. I live in NYC. Let me know the warranty and prices involved in installing those parts.

Thanks in advance,

Roman

You can add the second gen iPod adapter (replaces 6 disc cd changer) and you can't add comfort access - at least not for a reasonable price.

Be prepared for a gas bill 3 to 4 times greater than what you're used to. Same goes for a much larger insurance premium. You will also go through frequent tire changes roughly every 8000 - 11,000 miles, mainly because the rears wear out super fast. Other than that, the M5 is an awesome performer to drive ... provided your wallet can keep up. Good luck!

Don't get it. I got up to 125mph tonight on my way home from CT and completely freaked my wife out (whom I thought was sleeping). Hahahaha! The road was pretty much empty and I was tired of going 90mph. Well, let's just say she gave me an earful for the next 10 miles. Hahahahaha! Anyway, point of the story is...the M5 is bad, bad news. It makes you speed ALL the time.

Currently, 147 is the top for me. At least I think it was around 147. Hahahaha! It was definitely just shy of 150, but above 145. If I ever do a remap on this car and the speed governor is removed, I'm screwed.

PS - Thanks again and again, for giving me your car, in case I didn't thank you already.

I have to try out the GPS speed function on the hidden OBC menu...

My speedometer has gone almost all the way to the letter "1" on the fuel gauge.... in the DIESEL

that's well past 260kmh, (155mph)... running the 19" OEM M5 wheels with 275/35 and 305/30 tires....

I have Eibach suspension and roll bars, Torsen LSD, cat-back exhaust... and boy, do i love spewing black smoke...

didn't find it to be unstable at all, BUT i do not recommend driving in these speeds....

Safety first...
