You might be right there AC

Thanks for clearing things up, but I don't think it is worth while explaining things to such an idiot, this waxker just want to start a childish keyboard fight where he is safe You think he will dare to say such things face to face

I was going to take more pics of the engine bay etc to show how genuine it is, but now I've given up.
Yeah you can save those for the meet, then those picture will be in my head

You are such a fuxxing idiot!!

You must be a jealous bastard that can't handle people having a great car, and all you can do is to just sit on your ass all day playing with diecast models.

Plus we don't need it is one of the factor. I do agree the small screen is substandard, I was wondering how the system reacts if the larger screen was install
if you order the tv-tuner you get the big screen... surely you knew that

601 package, for all countries where navigation maps are not available, as in bulgaria. Although our dealers dont stop us ordering the prof. nav.. .maybe because we can go to countries that have the facility

Actually they do have the map for the Canton Province (including HK) you can say is a geographic problem that cause GPS to have problems as buildings are too tall and sometimes we are in tunnel so lots of interference, hence GPS doesn't really work well.
I may be wrong in this but doesn't latest BMW nav not only use a GPS receiver but is in some way linked to the drive and braking systems of the vehicle thereby to some extent "covering" for signal loss?

I don't know about that, anyways there's no need for Nav as our car doesn't cross any boarders so no Nav is not a big deal.

But I looked at those iDrive with Nav with big screen is much bigger and looks nicer, wonder how much would it cost to retrofit it.

But even if we can get the big screen from Germany, BMW HK wouldn't be able to program it since it's not an option in the E60 here. <_<

Navigation works that way for quite some time now. In addition to the GPS receiver, they are equipped with a circulating compass, that adds information to your nav when e.g. going through a tunnel, by calculating a speed/direction mix.

Don't know how effective that system is in an area like HK, though.

I don't think it would be effective at all, too much interference as there are alot of cell phones and skyscrapper here.
