European Delivery
#1
Having just recently discovered this forum, may I say that the wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for the M5 is impressive. My qustion is this:
Does BMW offer the M5 for Eurpoean delivery? The web site shows all the models and their price for ED, but neither the M3 of the M5 are shown. Having taken a ED on my current MB (and now having seen the error of my decision), I also want to experience the thrill of driving a BMW on the Autobahn. And the prospect of it being an M5 is almost too much to fathom.

I believe it is possible, but, as I understand it, the M5 will not be available for another year. I was curious about your choice of cars as I was debating getting a MB E55 until the M5 came out. However, after much deliberation and comparison driving, I opted for the 545 sport smg even though there is a big difference in horsepower and speed between the MB e55 and the BMW 545.

I believe that BMW does not allow ED on M cars from time to time. I was told that was the case 2 generations of M5's ago. No word yet, keeping my fingers crossed.
ED has to be the only way to take delivery. The first drive, in her homeland. Those that have taken an ED, I assume the car is prepped for an ocean voyage the same as a normally delivered car (i.e. wax coating blah blah....)
