if better braking power than oem is all that you need (for st), I suggest you can give red stuff a try. for best performance, I have seen some info on stoptech's site on tests carried out by various auto magazines.
Like, me for instance - I want more stopping power. I use my car on the street pretty regularly, but I also hit the curves HARD on weekends, so I'd like the least fading and the least dust, coupled with reasonable wear - which, as I understand, does not exist. So in my case, I'd not even bother with pads, until I've upgraded my brake lines and my rotors... well, actually, I'd just get all three at once, if I decided to go with the upgrade. The reason for my thinking this way is basically the fact that upgraded pads will wear out rotors too fast and may lead to problems than they are solving - especially considering that I push my car pretty close to 100% at times. Am I delusional or does ^this make total sense to you?

I agreed, the best approach is to do all 3 together.

I dont know how rotor friendly red stuff is, we have heard yellow is not. I do think red stuff is on the soft side, so might be ok. well, keith can give us a report after a few kms I guess.

Yes, a report would come in handy

I've been searching for pads myself, because the last few times I drove my car to the limit, I felt like my brakes faded too soon. But then I realized that this issue is not corrected with pads - you have to switch out the brake lines. Anyway, if the redstuff is worth it, I'd get a set, but I'd like to see some reviews by people who've had it for a few months and drove hard...

+1 best to upgrade the hold set and not just 1 part.

sounds like you drive your car pretty hard. if you are planning to change the whole set anyway, why not just go with stoptech and pagid. I noticed they are heavily involved in motor racing, thats always a good sign. + feedback from this forum is good so far.

I have the yellows but havent put them on yet, I am going aftermaket rotors so they have something to bite on. I am saving up to put all this stuff on ,but i will report in on the yellows performance when the time comes! My mechanic does swear by these though he has them on his work cars, trucks.

keith let me had another run on his car last night, I didnt notice any fading after a sequence of 5-6 downhill heavy braking (I would say about 70-80% of full braking power).

I don't normally drive my car at 100%, but I do take it places where I can open it up almost weekly in the summertime. Plus, I drive in the rain and snow and cold as well. So yes, I will check out the Stoptech and Pagid products. But I'm entering a situation where I don't know if I should just get some interim pads for now to improve the braking now and start putting together the lines, rotors and pads for a future upgrade; or maybe I should just wait a little while and change only the rotors and the pads - the thing about doing the brake lines is kinda not really worth it for me, bc I know I'll be getting another car sooner than the new lines can be cost-effective...

Any detailed opinions on Pagid and Stoptech? Do their pads eat up rotors?
